Robotic Maintenance Technician - $35+/hr

We are hiring in Spartanburg, SC and seeking skilled Robotic Maintenance Technicians


Shifts:

A Shift (Monday – Friday 6:30am–3pm) 

B Shift (Monday – Friday 8pm-4:30am) 

Pay Range: $35+/hr - based on experience


As a Robotic Maintenance Technician, you will support production by troubleshooting, adjusting, and programming robots to run to standard. The Maintenance Technician will teach robot software and/or path programming to meet operational needs and increase productivity while reducing cycle time.

Maintenance Technician 

  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and document maintenance activities.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shaft, bearing, gear, and other parts of machinery.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all (production and facility) equipment.       
  • Practice safe use of hand and machine tools, i.e. grinders, saws, lathes and mills.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S in the department and periodically participating with audit process.
  • Troubleshoot the robot controller, teach pendant when robotic equipment is out of sync, and use the programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.
  • Prepare and adjust robot programs and automated welding parameters.
  • Analyze products to determine the adjustments to be made to the robot program and welding parameters.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting problems of all equipment
  • Work with Controls Engineering and escalate/recommend robot software/programming to aid in chronic reliability problems and meet needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; five years related experience and/or training in a maintenance role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Two years of robotic programming experience using Allen Bradley, Motomon, Siemens, or Yaskawa machinery
  • Two years of experience working with automated weld equipment.
  • Three years of experience working in an industrial automated environment.
  • Advanced skills in welding and metal forming techniques and processes
  • Assists in the development and troubleshooting of programs for preferably Motoman robots or other 6 Axis Industrial Robots as to customize the robot’s movement accordingly.
  •  Understand of Manual and Automated Welding including MIG and TIG.
  • Must be able to install and maintain mechanical and electrical work on automated and manual equipment including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, low voltage electrical systems and high voltage electrical wiring.
  • Must be able to perform: robotic troubleshooting, robotic preventative maintenance and ladder programming.  
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Must have significant capacity for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical schematics and blueprints.
