Robotic Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production operations by troubleshooting, programming, and adjusting robotic systems to meet performance standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in robotic programming, welding systems, and industrial maintenance to optimize equipment functionality, reduce cycle times, and support overall operational efficiency.

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina

Shift Time: 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm 

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, including transformers, wiring, and robotic controllers.
  • Program, adjust, and optimize robot paths and welding parameters using Motoman, Siemens, or other 6-axis robot platforms.
  • Inspect, test, and document machinery condition and maintenance activities.
  • Detect machine malfunctions by listening for irregular noises and diagnosing issues with supervisors or team members.
  • Dismantle defective equipment and install or replace new/repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery components such as shafts, bearings, and gears.
  • Install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for both production and facility equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain hand and machine tools, including grinders, saws, lathes, and mills.
  • Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness (5S) and participate in audit processes.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering on robot software enhancements for improved performance and reliability.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of all plant equipment.
  • Train and mentor team members in maintenance and robotic operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial/automated setting.
  • At least two (2) years of robotic programming experience using Motoman or Siemens platforms.
  • Two (2) years of experience with automated welding equipment.
  • Experience with Motoman XRC, NX, DX or other robotic systems; Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Proficient in welding and metal forming techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to install and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience in ladder logic programming and robotic preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
